About me
- Where I liveI live near and work near Motherwell, it's a quietish place, not completely full of neds but it does feel a bit like the land that time forgot! I like the fact that I can jump in my car and be in Glasgow in like 10 mins and Edinburgh in half an hour
- Where are you originally from?Born and raised in Lanarkshire, studied up in Dundee.
- Do you want to stay there?I'd love to see the world, I love going on holidays to exotic places, places where I can see and experience new things. I'd maybe like to even spend some time working abroad somewhere. The world is too big a place for me to say that I can see myself living my whole life withing the same 20 mile area!
- What is your occupation?I have been working as a dentist in the NHS for about the last 3 years. I really enjoy my work but love switching off and hate talking about teeth lol! My work keeps me pretty busy so I like to make the most of my free time.
- What have you done so far?Really enjoyed my time at uni, made some great friends and had some brilliant experiences. I was so glad I moved away from uni, it was tough at first trying to fend for myself but it was the best time of my life.
- What are your future plans?Plan to keep working hard and really want to advance in my work. I dont like the idea of never progressing and being too content with things. I think I'm capable of quite a lot so dont see any reason why I cant fulfil my potential and do the things I want. I want to travel as much as possible, definitely want to drive some better cars!
- Your perfect partnerMy perfect partner is someone who is independent, considerate with a good sense of humour. A positive outlook on life is a big bonus. It's hard to put into words what you're looking for but I believe that you know it when you find it.
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?I like keeping fit, go running regularly and play football every week. I enjoy watching football on tv but I'm no big Rangers/Celtic fan (too much trouble lol), enjoy most sports actually. Really like movies, love going to the cinema and watching DVDs. I like to read as well though I only really get a chance 5 mins before i fall asleep. I love driving - there's nothing better than jumping in your car after a hard days work, turning the radio up, rolling the windows down and enjoying the sunshine.
- MusicLike all sorts of music. Have the radio on all day in work so I get to hear allsorts. Really like bands like the killers and snow patrol although I do like my hip hop and rnb in the car sometimes. I really am open to any type of music, not a huge fan of dance though (especially the hardcore stuff lol)
- Your fav tv seriesEnjoy ER, the sopranos, 24, Simpsons, family guy, american dad, south park, red dwarf (thats an old one lol), been watching dragons den as well, thats got me hooked too. I like all sorts, not a big soap fan though.
- Your fav books/authorsI've read all sorts, enjoy thriller writers like Michael Crighton and John Grisham but like reading books by different authors to keep variety. Used to read a lot more but still always have a book on the go.
- What sort of movies do you like?I love comedies like will ferell/ben stiller/owen wilson movies, like the old classics too like planes trains and automobiles, see no evil hear no evil. Like movies that make you think too, watch a lot of films that arent that mainstream at the cinema - i like to be pleasantly surprised by films. Sometimes you cant beat an honest action film or predictable comedy. I just love films so watch (almost) anything.
- Types of people you like?I like people who are comfortable in themselves and who can hold a conversation. Not a huge fan of arrogant people or people who think they are superior to others on the basis of things that they cant change and have little control over (pretty people who think its a personal achievement to be good looking lol, though i do appreciate good looks :p). Hate people who try to make others feel small to make themselves feel better. Most people are cool when you get to know them.
- What kind of people do you find attractive? Honest, considerate, caring people who I can have a laugh with, physical attraction is important too. You have to have a beautiful soul!
- FoodI love eating out, like Chinese, indian, chippies, mexican but my favourite has to be Italian - Pizza AND Pasta, there is no contest. I like trying new places, the west end is good for that.
- DrinksI don't drink but don't have a problem with others drinking. Its funny, i tell some people and I get some strange looks lol. I dont need a drink to have a good time, just need good company!
- HolidaysLike far-flung destinations. Havent yet been to the far east, would love to go. Been to New York, that was great, Dubai was HOOOT and really nice. I'd love to see Italy and visit Rome. I could go on for hours about the places I'm planning on going!
- PetsNever had a pet growing up :( feel comfortable around cats and dogs, wouldnt say i was a cat or a dog person really. Been on safari in Kenya (not exactly pets lol), really enjoyed that, I definitely like animals.
- Fav thingDefinitely my car, love the freedom it gives. I can't even remember what it was like not to have it! If you ask me at 7 in the morning, I'd say my bed though!
- Fav PlaceDefintiely want to go back to Dubai. I like places to be obscenely hot when I'm holiday. I think that way I definitely feel im not in cold cold scotland lol
My attitude
- Family lifeI think marriage is an important milestone in life, Id love to have a family. I dont believe in rushing things or doing thins for the sake of doing them. I like spending time with my family, after all, they are amongst the people that care about you most.
- Jobs&WorkingI'm definitely working for the money lol. If I wasnt getting paid, id probably do something else :p
- MoneyMy ideal position to be in would be where Id hardly have to consider money. I could live a happy content life without having to worry about bills. I would like a nice house (and car(s) lol. The old adage about there being more to life than money is so true.
- PoliticsI'm fairly liberal in my views, hate oppression of people in general. Not a big fan of our current government and really a bit disillusioned with politicians in general. I'm a bit wary of the type of people that are attracted to the power involved in poltics
