Hi, I'm Hugh (aka Shuggy)a 33yr old desk jockey Civil Servant though that is all about to change. As I mention below a career change is imminent. This is new to me but Flirtbox seems very cool. I suppose I could be described as a happy, positive guy with a wicked, if unique, sense of humour. I'm a good listener and enjoy everybody's company. In my spare time I like playing pool, meeting friends (I prefer pubs to clubs), watching news programmes on TV and I seem to spend lots of time helping a family member with a house renovation project. I'd like to meet new friends, enjoy new experiences, have fun and maybe even find romance. Stuff I like
- MusicMy taste in music ranges between AC/DC and Abba to My Chemical Romance and Tony Bennett. Sadly, in fact make that tragically, I also enjoy listening to cheesy pop such as the guff produced by Stock, Aitken, Waterman. Shame.
- FoodLove all pastas, most Italian food and certain Chinese dishes. I always enjoy trying something new though. My favourite, however, must be a rare steak out of Sizzlers in Glasgow's Fruitmarket.
- DrinksI'm a bit of a whisky buff (although that's buff OK not BORE) and like to try out beers/ales that I've not drank before. That said I'm just as happy chilling with a pint of Miller or (and I'm getting old writing this) soft drink.
- PetsAlthough I don't have any pets I'm a huge animal lover.
- Fav thingMy health and (relatively normal) mental well being!
My attitude
- Jobs&WorkingI'm a Civil Servant within the Ministry of Defence and have been for about ten years. However I am currently changing careers as I want to become a Care Assistant/Support Worker; preferably dealing with young people with learning and/or physical disabilities. In fact, I have just received news that I've been successful in the job that I most wanted. Not only am I leaving a job that I now detest but I'm going into something that has always interested me and into a company with a fantastic reputation.
- MoneyPaying of the financial stupidity of my past means I'm back living with my parents. That said I have enough to get by and enjoy life .
- PoliticsI'm very interested in current affairs and politics as they have such a direct influence on our everyday lives. What I dislike is when people refuse to listen to someone elses opinion.
