About me
- Where I liveSt. Georges X area. I've lived in 3 different places in Glasgow so far, and this is definitely the best area I've lived in. Still more or less in the West End, but just a stone's throw away from the City Centre.
- Where are you originally from?I was born in Philadelphia and lived there my entire life before moving to Glasgow. I'm often homesick, but I still love living here and exploring more of Scotland and being close to other parts of Europe.
- Do you want to stay there? Not sure. I think I'd like to, but also feel that I need to be flexible about where I live for the sake of finding my ideal job.
- What is your occupation?I was temping as payments officer at the NHS, but I am starting a new job with a bank. During the academic year, I also tutor part-time at the University of Glasgow.
- What have you done so far?I spent much of my professional career as an office manager for a university department, though I don't want to keep doing administration if I can help it. I have also done writing and front-end web development for a public policy consulting company.
- What are your future plans?Ideally, I would like to return to complete a PhD and eventually get a lectureship at a university.
- Your perfect partner
Stuff I like
- What are you interests/hobbies?I love cooking. I've been a devoted cook for over 15 years and I get a lot of praise what I make. I've been getting really into baking focaccia lately, which isn't as hard as you would think.
- MusicI like music from almost any genre, though I'm not crazy about country - unless it's Johnny Cash - or jazz - unless it's Miles Davis.
- Your fav tv seriesI've really been enjoying Dexter. Pretty addictive stuff.
- What sort of movies do you like?I like fairly unconventional or independent films for something to think about, but I also like to be entertained by Hollywood fluff so long as it's somewhat imaginative.
- FoodI'll eat almost anything, though my diet tends to be pretty healthy. I was a vegetarian for a very long time, but I have been eating seafood again. Still not drawn to other meats, but I have no judgmental attitudes towards more serious carnivores.
- DrinksI might go out for a drink once or twice during the week. I do like to go out and have a blast sometimes, but I'm also getting to the point where I'm not as willing to lose most of my Saturday as the cost of an excessive Friday night.
- HolidaysI like seeing new countries and new cities. So far I've been to Belize, Portugal, Turkey, Belgium and have visited a decent number of places in the UK. Portugal is my favourite so far.
